What is the big picture?

Citrify is a fresh little web app that can make your photos look better. We have easy to use one-click tools for removing pimples, reducing wrinkles, or applying funky effects.

How is Citrify different from Photoshop Elements and iPhoto?

Citrify is a web-based photo editor. There’s no bulky software to install or update. It’s always available whenever you need it. There are no complicated layers or albums. Simply open your photo, touch-up and apply effects with a few clicks, and save.

How is Citrify different from Picnik.com and Photoshop.com?

We let you work on your photo faster. There is no user account signup and you don’t have to upload any photos. Our software can open and save photos right from your computer. In addition, our photo editor does not degrade your photo resolution, which sets us apart from our online competitors.

What platform does Citrify run on?

Citrify currently runs on Adobe Flash. We are an early adopter of the Pixel Bender kernel in Flash 10. It gives us the performance edge when editing hi-res photos.

However, we are also investigating HTML5 Canvas for future versions.

What is Citrify’s business model?

We offer our web-based photo editor to general consumers for free. Our plan is to monetize via photo prints and premium features once we gain a wide enough audience.

We also offer our software as a white-label product. In exchange for an upfront license fee and on-going support fee, we customize our software to reflect the customer’s brand, and embed seamlessly into their service offerings. Our target verticals include photo printing sites, photo sharing sites, and digital scrapbooking sites.

What’s the funding status of the company?

Citrify is completely self-funded. We already have cash flow from software licensing deals and we are not actively looking for funding.

Who’s behind Citrify?

Zee Yang is a web developer and serial entrepreneur. He built and sold formdriven.com, a web-based PDF form design tool, in early 2009. He has been working on Citrify part time since early 09 and full time since October 09.

Tali Weissberger is our designer and marketing gal. She has a keen eye for user experience and UI design. Tali has been working on Citrify full time since October 09.
